North Texas Daily, or NT Daily, serves as the student-run newspaper for the University of North Texas located in Denton, Texas. It is available online every day and published in print each Thursday. In 2015, under the guidance of Editor-In-Chief Nicholas Friedman, NT Daily transitioned to a digital-first model, launching a revamped brand and website while emphasizing social media engagement. The publication covers six key areas: News, Arts & Life, a Pop Culture section called The Dose, Sports, a dedicated sports blog titled The Sideline, and Opinion pieces.

Cameron Smith, now a freelance creator and Denton resident, was once put in handcuffs for making a film in a Denton gas station. Nearly 15 years ago, he and a group of friends were filming a robbery comedy when police thought the scene was a real crime. Smith attended the university from 2008 to 2010 and has returned to Denton often over the years for work.
