Northern Broadcasting System

Northern Broadcasting System

Northern Broadcasting System was founded in 1975 by former Montana U.S. Senator Conrad Burns, initially as the Northern Agricultural Network, focusing on agricultural broadcasts. Recognizing that agriculture is Montana's leading industry, Burns aimed to deliver valuable information to the agri-business sector. The network started with just four stations but expanded significantly before Burns transitioned into Montana politics in 1986. Under the leadership of the new President/CEO, Taylor Brown, the network expanded its reach to encompass parts of eight states in the Northwest and Canada. Today, over 220,000 individuals access agricultural and farming news through radio, television, and online platforms provided by the Northern Broadcasting System.
