Southern Energy and Golar LNG announced FID May 2 on a 20-year redeployment charter of the FLNG Hilli Episeyo offshore Argentina. In addition, the two parties have signed definitive agreements for a 20-year charter for Golar’s MKII FLNG, which is undergoing conversion at the CIMC Raffles shipyard in Yantai, China. This charter remains subject to FID and regulatory approvals, although both are anticipated later this year.

bp and its partners in the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) Field in the Caspian Sea have drilled a first well on the gas NAG reservoirs. These are thought to contain up to 4 Tcf recoverable. The well, drilled from the West Chirag platform, should enter production later this year following subsea tie-in activities, with the performance data used to support larger-scale development planning for the reservoirs.
