Optical Prism

Optical Prism

A prism is a clear optical device that bends light, featuring smooth, flat surfaces. To function properly, at least two of these surfaces need to be angled relative to each other, with the specific angles determined by the intended use. The most common form is the triangular prism, characterized by a triangular base and rectangular sides, which is often what people think of when they hear "prism." However, not all optical prisms conform to this geometric shape. Prisms can be crafted from various transparent materials suitable for the light wavelengths they are meant to handle, with glass, plastic, and fluorite being popular choices.
