DX expands depot network with new Southampton facility

Delivery solutions provider DX has continued the expansion of its depot network in the UK with the opening of a new facility in Southampton. The 2,322m2 depot is located in Chandler’s Ford in Eastleigh, and replaces a smaller depot in Totton. It is the latest addition to the group’s parcels network, part of the DX Express division, and will improve operational efficiencies, reduce carbon emissions and enhance customer service levels, according to DX.

Australia Post has improved the automation and efficiency of its international inbound parcel processing operations with the opening of a new International Commercial Facility at Sky Road, Melbourne Airport. The 2,500m2 facility features advanced automation technology to sort up to 6,000 parcels per hour and is the post’s first facility in Victoria designed specifically to expedite the clearance process for international parcels coming into Australia.

Royal Mail moves closer to net zero target with removal of 18 domestic flights

As part of its efforts to improve reliability and minimize carbon emissions, Royal Mail has successfully halved its domestic flight operations in line with its target announced last July. In total, Royal Mail has discontinued 18 domestic flights, saving approximately 30,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year and marking a significant step forward in achieving its net zero target by 2040.
Post Office moves to fully franchised network

Logistics specialist Whistl has appointed as its new chief executive officer Ian Keilty, who will take up the position on July 1, 2025. DHL boosts e-commerce operations with Newcastle opening

DHL eCommerce UK has opened a new 5,100m2 site in Newcastle in the UK that will increase its e-commerce handling capacity and help meet customer demand across the northeast. The site will handle up to 15,000 parcels a day and has been designed to align with DHL’s Go Green strategy to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Features include heating and lighting sensors to reduce energy use and 10 EV charging points, which will also support efforts to reduce carbon emissions from deliveries.
