Shawnie Kennedy, who recently moved to Patagonia from Mayer, AZ, has been hired as the new director of the Patagonia Public Library. Thirty years ago, Kennedy’s parents visited Patagonia, and the magic of the community never left them. When Kennedy’s mother, a retired librarian, learned that the town was looking for a library director, she encouraged Shawnie to apply for the position. It is obvious when speaking with her that Kennedy is excited about the library and the town.

The adults were the couple’s eldest son Herbert (1844-1896), Herbert’s wife Julia, their daughter Lelia (1848-1919), and their youngest son, Fred Lincoln. The children were six of Herbert and Julia’s children, including their eldest son, Charles Otis.
