Spanning more than 50 acres, Thelwell Heys would feature 102 affordable properties in Grappenhall. Castle Green Homes has lodged plans to build 340 homes on a site bounded by Bridgewater Canal to the south and the Trans Pennine Trail to the north. Around 30 acres of the site, which is allocated for housing in Warrington’s local plan, will be developed.

McDonald’s tables plans for Rochdale return

Fourteen years after shutting its town centre restaurant, the fast-food chain has submitted an application to build a new one on Molesworth Street. McDonald’s’ formal request for planning permission for a 5,000 sq ft restaurant comes after the company consulted on its plans to return to Rochdale town centre last year. McDonald’s decision to shut its Yorkshire Street site in 2011 was held up as a sign of the high street’s failure. Thirteen years on, the restaurant is coming back to the town centre.

Davos Property Developments is seeking permission for its first foray into the city’s suburban housing market. Bolton-based James Industrial is named on an application lodged with Blackburn with Darwen Council seeking consent to demolish the vacant buildings on the 6.4-acre former Perspex site off Duckworth Street. Perspex vacated the site as part of a consolidation of its estate. The firm is progressing plans to invest ÂŁ40m delivering a 13,000 sq ft extension at its Goose House Lane complex.
