Our Ornery Dog Jasper likes things on the cool side and I do, too. Good morning from Porte’s hometown of Martinsburg where the weather this week hasn’t been great for dog walking. It’s been wet, but I’m not necessarily complaining. Dreary weather makes for a good excuse to sit around and work on stupid newsletters. In fact, I finally made time to dive back into the archives of the old Martinsburg Gazette newspaper and found the third letter that Porte wrote home describing his experiences in Europe as a young man.
