It is hard to say that there are any real positives going for the Nashville Predators right now, as they just had one of their worst seasons ever and still lack a true direction. That being said, one thing that is a legitimate plus is that they have one of the best draft situations they have had in years. They have the 5th overall pick, picking in the top 5 for the first time since 2013, and they own two other first rounders for a total of three.

Acquiring Marco Rossi in a trade would be a team move for the Predators to make this offseason. Is it even plausible? The old saying goes when something is broken to try turning it off and turning it back on again, and that seems to be the analogy best used to describe the Nashville Predators for the 2025 NHL offseason.

With approximately $17 million in projected cap space, will the Predators try to upgrade the center position this offseason? The first year didn't turn out well with Barry Trotz's free agency haul, but they get another opportunity in 2025-26 to rectify things. Time isn't on our side when it comes to the Nashville Predators cashing in from their 2024 free agency haul of Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault and Brady Skjei because of that whole aging thing. Stamkos is 35 and looking to bounce back from his worst offensive season going all the way back to his rookie year in 2008-09.

Out of all the failed offseason moves the Predators made in 2024, Marchessault wasn't a complete bust. He rallied towards the end and has value to the Preds or in the trade market. I'm surprised, but pleasantly, to see Jonathan Marchessault coming up in offseason trade rumors for the Nashville Predators who need to mash that reset button in a hurry.
