The district winners in each region automatically qualify for the playoffs and secure homefield advantage in the region quarterfinals series if they are not playing another champion. The next four postseason berths in each region are determined strictly by the rankings. Here is the list of the top eight in regions that include area teams.

Indian Rocks Christian named former NFL All-Pro fullback Leonard Weaver as its new football coach Tuesday. Weaver replaces Mark Buchanan, who IRC parted ways with in mid-January. Weaver comes to Indian Rocks Christian from Carson-Newman University, where he spent two seasons coaching running backs at his alma mater. Under Weaver’s guidance, running backs Tyree Nelson and TJ King earned All-South Atlantic Conference honors as part of a balanced attack in 2022.

Here are the nominees for the Pasco County hitter of the week poll for games played March 10-15. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Thursday. Julianna Carter, Jr., Gulf: Went a combined 5-for-9 with a homer, a triple, two RBIs and four runs scored in two games. Bailey Garrison, Fr., Wesley Chapel: Had two doubles, five RBIs and three runs scored in a win over Zephyrhills. Taylor Tucker, Fr., Mitchell: Ended up going a combined 3-for-5 with three RBIs in wins over Sunlake and Land O’ Lakes.
