PALM HARBOR — Palm Harbor Fire Rescue crews saved a family cat from a house fire May 22 after the animal was found unresponsive inside a smoke-filled home on Hidden Meadows Drive East. The fire was reported around midday when a citizen at a nearby park noticed smoke coming from the home’s eaves and called 911. Two parents attending Little League practice saw the smoke and ran to the house, knocking on windows to alert anyone inside.

CLEARWATER — A man whose body was found floating near a Clearwater bridge more than three decades ago has been identified through genetic genealogy as Edman Eric Gleed, an 84-year-old Virginia man who had been reported missing by his family. Gleed’s body was discovered Nov. 29, 1993, near the east side of the Clearwater Pass Bridge leading to Sand Key.

The 2025 Hillsborough-Pinellas Senior All-Star Game will be played Monday at TD Ballpark in Dunedin, home of the Blue Jays. The game, traditionally held at Tropicana Field, was moved after the Tampa Bay Rays’ stadium became unavailable when Hurricane Milton tore off portions of the roof in October.
