While I am navigating this amateur motocross thing with my son Aden, I also try give him the best parts I am able to without breaking my bank account. Yes, we do get a lot of stuff for free but I also spend a lot of money. Sure, I don’t spend as much money as the normal weekend warrior but I try and put myself into a “non industry” type rider to see if some of these parts are worth purchasing. This brings me to engine mounts.

A week ago at Thunder Valley, Chance Hymas led all the laps in the 250 class in both motos. I had wondered when this last happened figuring Haiden Deegan probably did last year or Jett Lawrence in 2022. But it turned out it had been 10 years since it last happened! Jeremy Martin in 2015 at Thunder Valley. And then…it happened just a week later at High Point when Haiden Deegan led all the laps in both motos. So how often has this happened and who has achieved this the most times?

It’s nice to be able to be back east and be able to test new things to see what it does on different types of dirt. I just so happened to be at Club MX doing some testing/training with my kid and Jonny Oler of Art OF War (AOW) Suspension text me to see if I had time to test something for him. I happily obliged as I am always into testing new things so he came out and brought a set of some re-valved KYB YZ450F suspension to try.

Ducati invited us to come test ride their very first motocross machine, the Desmo 450 MX. I hopped on a plane to Bologna, Italy to take a quick tour of the factory as well as ride the new red machine at 04 Park-Monte Coralli. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, Ducati’s desmodromic valve is a reciprocating engine poppet valve that is positively closed by a cam and leverage system, rather than by a more conventional spring.

There have been 35 different riders to win the 250MX Motocross Championship in the 51 complete seasons of the class. 14 of those riders went on to win the the 450MX championships. What this article is going over is the ones to not find much success in the 450 Class. To clear up any confusion the classes I am referring to. We are talking about the 450MX (Previously 250 2 stroke class) and 250MX (Previously 125 2 stroke class) classes throughout this article.
