Myretown produced a brilliant front-running performance at Cheltenham to earn trainer Lucinda Russell her third victory in the Ultima Handicap Chase from the last four runnings. The eight-year-old, wearing the same silks and by the same sire in former Arc hero Dylan Thomas as Russell’s stable stalwart Ahoy Senor, looked comfortable in the hands of Patrick Wadge in taking the early lead.

Nicky Henderson’s Champion Hurdle star Constitution Hill erased any doubts surrounding his fitness with a sparkling gallop at Kempton Park last Tuesday ahead of this year’s Cheltenham Festival. The eight-year-old delighted Henderson with his powerful workout, putting last year’s setback firmly behind him as he gears up for another tilt at the Unibet Champion Hurdle on Tuesday 11 March at Cheltenham.

Star Sports will name one of the races on their sponsored card at Fontwell on Sunday after Barry Dennis, honouring the legendary on-course bookmaker who passed away late last year. ‘The Barry Dennis Trophy’ will be run in memory of Dennis on Sunday at Fontwell at 3.30pm – the fourth race on a full card sponsored by Star Sports – with a bespoke Barry Dennis trophy awarded to the winner.
