Hello and Good Morning from the Fylde Coast, where blue skies and bright sunshine definitely don’t mean it’s warm enough to come out without a coat. I’m still surgically attached to my fleece waistcoat. I’m here in the bookshop, but you could be forgiven for thinking we’re a cardboard emporium as we’re awaiting a recycling collection and all our paper and cardboard is propped up patiently by the door to make it easier for the guys who come for it.

Hello! Good Morning! I am back in the land of the living after being off poorly last week with a cold that came out of nowhere, just as we were having a spell of nice weather. I spent Wednesday to Saturday shivering in fleece, huffing Vicks and gargling Covonia, but yesterday I suddenly felt much better so I am here today to make up for our missed Receipt on Friday. Thanks for all your sweet support on Notes.

A monthly subscription genuinely costs less than the slice of pistachio loaf I had really high hopes for, even though I knew the cakes at the big chain coffee place are generally terrible, and guess what, it was terrible! Good Morning! It’s a bright sunny Friday on the Fylde Coast. I went out in four layers but I definitely only needed three and it’s possible, at some angles, even two would have sufficed! Not here in the bookshop though, obviously. Brrrr! Spring officially sprung yesterday, didn’t it? Snufkin must have returned to Moominvalley. Winter is over for another year. Unless we have one of those freak storms that don’t even feel that freakish anymore, due to them occurring all the bloody time.

Good Morning! It’s 9.58 and the sun is shining. I forgot my scarf and it almost doesn’t matter. There is, of course, still a slight chill to the breeze… seems to just target the neck area now I think about it… but I assume if you were to stand in the direct gaze of the sun right now, chin tilted up, gullet fully exposed to the rays, it’d feel really lovely. If, instead, you’re in a dim bookshop on the dark side of the street, you’re probably still a bit cold.

Good Morning! Hello! Thanks to everyone who took the time to confirm that ‘Good Morning’ is an appropriate way to begin this newsletter that people read at all hours of the day across many time zones. It’s a wet one here - the morning. Wet and slimy and disappointing after a few days of sunbursts so Spring-like I even wore a low-cut sock (under a full length trouser). Not today though! Not today…Someone just walked past the shop with an absolutely huge hat box.
