Revolt In Style Magazine

For more than three decades, Revolt In Style Magazine has been a leading voice in Southern California culture. Founded in the early 1980s, it originally served as a guide to the 'New Wave' scene, covering the music, fashion, and nightlife of that era. By the 1990s, it transformed into a lifestyle magazine for Frat Brothers, featuring humor, the rock and roll lifestyle, and a focus on partying. Throughout the 2000s, the magazine changed ownership multiple times, leading to shifts in themes and formats. In 2007, Brian and Leslie Terhorst took over and completely revamped the publication, giving it a more positive outlook on Southern California living. They also began hosting special events to provide fresh content for the magazine each month, organizing concerts, parties, fashion shows, and sporting events in various venues across San Diego. By 2018, the Revolt Summer Surf Series was celebrating its 12th season, while the Sunday X3 Paddle Race series marked its 5th season. Both have become the largest Pro-Am series of their kind on the West Coast, drawing support from athletes and media worldwide. With a focus on action sports, alternative rock, and the unique style of Southern California, Revolt In Style Magazine consistently raises the standard for free publications. Our mission is to highlight the vibrant Southern California lifestyle in a youthful, intelligent, and artistic manner while remaining connected to our roots in music, surf, skate, snow, and other subcultures.
