Almost a year in the making, the Bayliss Emergency Medical Response Team is finally up and running!When evaluating the community needs we seen that because of our distance from town, there was a longer than usual response time with emergency medical services. Now that we have medical responders in the immediate area, we have cut that response time down to 3-7 +/- minutes.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Brian Tindell as the new senior resident inspector at Arkansas Nuclear One nuclear power plant in Russellville, Arkansas. The plant is operated by Entergy Operations. “Brian’s prior experience at Arkansas Nuclear One and commitment to safety will help the NRC in its mission of protecting people and the environment by helping ensure that the plant continues to meet the high standards set by the agency,” said NRC Region IV Administrator John Monninger.

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — On Saturday, June 15, 2024, Arkansas State Police (ASP) stopped a white Mitsubishi SUV for a traffic violation on Interstate 40 East near the 79-mile marker in Pope County. During a search of the vehicle, ASP Troopers discovered 10 pounds of high-grade, illegal marijuana and two weapons. The weapons included a .300 Blackout Pistol and a Glock 30 with an aftermarket "switch" attached, making the pistol fully automatic, which is illegal to possess.

Arkansas Nuclear One recently made donations to two local nonprofit organizations in the River Valley. On Tuesday, June 4th, Arkansas Nuclear One presented a check to River Valley United Way. Pictured (L-R) ANO Site Vice President Doug Pehrson, GMPO Mark Skartvedt, United Way Director Kristy Williams, and ANO employee/United Way Board Member Ciara Hanuska. Arkansas Nuclear One also made a donation of $3,500 on Tuesday, to the William Stanley Newton Memorial Scholarship fund.

Armored vehicle once used by nuclear security to now help law enforcement RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. –Entergy’s Arkansas Nuclear One recently donated one of its armed security vehicles to the Pope County Sheriff’s Office for use in law enforcement activities. Entergy uses the vehicles for protecting the health and safety of the public from radiological sabotage, but is donating this one as a means ofgood stewardship in the community and to help foster a symbiotic partnership with local officials.
