Founded in 1995, the San Antonio Observer Newspaper is dedicated to serving and informing the community. Located in San Antonio, Texas—home to the seventh largest population in the United States—the San Antonio Observer is the sole African-American newspaper in the city and the largest of its kind in South Texas. This tabloid publication is released every Wednesday and is available both in print and online.

News broke this past weekend that the 32 year old son of the 55 year old Grammy nominated singer succumbed to his battle with cancer. The news was confirmed by both the singer’s ex wife Julie McKnight and brother Claude McKnight. Niko had been a musician and photographer in his own right. He had confirmed his cancer diagnosis in a 2024 post on Instagram. His father has yet to comment on his son’s death.
