What if I told you that the player who was going to defy decades of draft history at his position, both locally and league wide, and who would force the Seahawks GM to re-write his own quotes about guards being “overdrafted”, was in fact a second round pick who the media has convinced you is not only a worthy pick for Seattle at 18…he’s the only pick. That would take a generational talent at center or guard.

The Seattle Seahawks have made themselves very interesting. Oops. The NFL has changed its rules for which teams will be eligible for Hard Knocks, HBO’s training camp reality series, but with or without new criteria, the Seahawks would have been eligible. And for the first time in a long time, Seattle is eligible at a time when they might also be more appealing as a subject than any of the other eligible teams. The Seahawks have never been on Hard Knocks.

If there is one name that could be called out as the 18th pick in the draft and headed to the Seattle Seahawks that would bewilder Twitter the most, itās Donovan Ezeiruaku. Often projected as a late first round or day two pick, and thatās only after a rapid rise in the past three months, Ezeiruakuās name is not likely the one youāve heard the most or all that often in a stacked edge rusher class. Thatās if you even want the Seahawks to draft an edge rusher first, which many fans donāt.

The Seattle Seahawks are signing veteran receiver Cooper Kupp to a 3-year, $45 million contract. Schefter was first to mention Kupp as a Seahawks target and I posted some pros and cons to the addition that you can read here. My estimate was a 3-year, $39 million deal, so this goes slightly above that.
