    The home’s kitchen received a full remodel. A few factors drove the design of this space: the couple’s love of the great outdoors, simplicity and items that were easy to care for and clean in the high-traffic area. The original design of the space wasn’t very functional. When the oven door was open, you couldn’t walk through the kitchen. The stove and fridge were flipped from their current positions.

    We kicked off our journey in the coastal city of Santa Cruz. We were charmed by this town’s walkable downtown and historic beach boardwalk. We stayed at the historical West Cliff Inn. The light yellow colored walls of the bedroom outfitted with hardwood floors made for a pleasant setting. The large marble bathroom and outdoor balcony with a hot tub were other nice touches. Next, we headed downtown to the dual flower shop and coffee shop Flower Bar.

    Ever since it opened back in 2018, the Rector Trail quickly became a local favorite and for very good reasons. For starters, this hike lets you get up close to many of the Village of Oak Creek’s most recognizable red rocks like Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte and offers plenty of shady spots along the way – making it perfect for the warmer June temperatures.
