SFBay
Welcome to SFBay! We are a proud, locally-owned digital media startup that has gained recognition for our work. We aim to provide you with a unique perspective on news, sports, and more from the Bay Area. Recently, we noticed that much of the media in the Bay Area is controlled by companies based far away, mainly in New York. Many of the so-called "major" media outlets in our region are actually managed by firms located just a short distance from each other—2,500 miles away in Manhattan.

Photographs by Scot Tucker/SFBayThey almost gave it away. Then, just like that, Willy Adames ripped it right back. Amid the pulsating bedlam of an statuesque Oracle Park home opener, Adames played the hero Friday afternoon, lining a two-out, two-run single to right in the bottom of the 11th to cap a chaotic, see-saw, 10-9 Giants victory over Seattle. Forget the script. This game mulched it. Composted it. Then fertilized it with a slurry of pure adrenaline and maybe a little Bay Area magic.

As of today, there are zero. The Athletics, Oakland’s final namesake in major U.S. pro sports, walked off the Coliseum field for the final time, even as many of the 46,889 fans in attendance couldn’t quite bring themselves to leave.

Hayden Birdsong‘s final start of his rookie campaign was a trying effort, as the San Francisco Giants fell short to the St. Louis Cardinals with a 6-1 loss to close out the regular season at Oracle Park Sunday afternoon. San Francisco finished with a record of 80-82, the third-straight season without a playoff berth. With just one postseason appearance in eight years, the Giants organization continues a run generated from pure mediocrity.

Chances are that Muni passengers over the last 18 months have ridden on a 40-foot battery-electric bus in San Francisco on routes such as the 9-San Bruno or 44-O’Shaughnessy. The buses under test have featured sliding doors and a unique livery – like a massive lightning bolt – on the outside of the bus.

The L-Taraval Muni Metro rail line is finally returning to the subway and the streets Saturday morning, after years of construction replaced aging underground utilities, built new boarding islands, and replaced worn out rails. Trains will run every 10 minutes on weekdays and every 15 minutes on weekends between the zoo and Embarcadero station. The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency will discontinue L bus service as rail service returns.
