    The report, Health Inequalities, Lives Cut Short, demonstrates the extent to which stark economic and social inequalities are leading to people living in less affluent areas dying early from cancer, heart problems and other diseases. As well as leading to premature deaths, health inequalities mean people from less advantaged, lower income households are more likely to be living with long-term health conditions.

    As the era of fossil fuel heating comes to an end, we spoke to Professor Aimee Ambrose to learn more about the role of home heating in our daily lives. Can you tell us a bit about yourself, why did you decide to become a researcher? After training as a town planner, I worked for several years in practice developing masterplans for the redevelopment of social housing estates in Sheffield. My role included improving the environmental performance of the new housing built in these areas.
