A Dover Township man is cleared to potentially face a jury on accusations he caused a pedestrian’s death while driving under the influence in York City. Jeremiah Bowers, 37, is charged with counts of homicide by vehicle while DUI, DUI, careless driving, making an improper turn and failing to yield the right-of-way on a left turn from the October 2024 collision.

An area attorney will go on probation and register as a sex offender after he admitted to having child pornography. Christopher L. Harris, 33, was sentenced Tuesday to four years of supervised probation in Cumberland County. The decision came after he pleaded guilty to a felony count of child pornography possession in January. Counts of disseminating images of child sex acts and criminal use of a communication device were dismissed with the plea.

A York City man is guilty of shooting and killing another man in the street two years ago. A jury came to the verdict Thursday, finding Freddie Luna-Reyes, 30, guilty of first-degree murder at the end of his four-day trial. The York County District Attorney's Office and Luna-Reyes' attorney did not immediately respond to messages requesting comment on the outcome.

A Harrisburg man could potentially face a jury in York County on accusations he got a local 13-year-old girl pregnant. Daijore Connor, 24, is charged with statutory sexual assault where he’s eight to 11 years older than the teen, followed by counts of interference with child custody, unlawful sexual contact with a minor, corruption of minors and indecent assault of a juvenile.

Jesus Cintron-Molina stepped into the parking lane of West Market Street while talking and gesturing at a man with a bicycle across the street one October evening. Cintron-Molina crossed into the middle of the street as the talk continued. The other man set the bike down, and his hands went up, maybe out. But then, a few seconds later, about seven gunshots were heard. Cintron-Molina collapsed in the street, and the other man ran.

Two York City women face felony charges after police allege they bolted from a department store with more than $1,600 worth of stolen merchandise — and one of the women pepper-sprayed a security officer. Malaisa Perez, 22, faces felony charges of robbery and retail theft, as well as a misdemeanor count of simple assault from the incident last week. Shaini Bobbit, 18, is charged with felony retail theft.
Reported gunfire under investigation in Newberry Township

Police are searching for the culprit who fired a gun in a Newberry Township neighborhood over the weekend. Newberry Township police said officers responded to several 911 calls about the shots shortly after midnight Sunday in the Valley Green Townhomes neighborhood, according to the department. Police found bullet shell casings in the 100 block of Rose of Sharon Drive, which showed that at least one gun was fired there, the release shows.
