This month we’re heading to Mérida, the truly magical capital of Mexico’s Yucatán state and one of my favorite food + design-focused weekend getaways from CDMX. There’s the best coffee/s in the city to start your days with, the market stop you need to make for cochinita pibil, favorite spots for cocktails and ice cream and stays and so much more.

Hi all,This month we’re heading to Barcelona! Earlier in February,I surprised my partner Laila with a long weekend in one of her favorite cities and just as we filled our time on the ground with plenty of vermouth and gildas and pan con tomate and all manner of boquerones (fried! marinated! wrapped around olives!) so too have I filled this shortlist. Barcelona is one of my favorite favorite cities in the world to eat in and I’m so excited to share these spots with you all.

Hi all,Happy New Year! For our first shortlist of 2025, we’re heading to the last city I visited in 2024: Venice! In a year that was absolutely packed with travel, the trip to Venice was a very welcome last minute add-on to a few November weeks spent in Rome (find that shortlist here!). I hadn’t been back to the city since a very short trip with my parents in 2004 and it was a dream to visit 20 (!) years later / I will be sure not to let that much time pass between visits again.

Hi, hello + welcome back to Shortlisted!I may have just gotten back from Japan + Korea* but in celebration of the release ofle SUD: Recipes from Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur this month (!), I’m keeping us in France and to a city I love + visit multiple times a year + talk about leaving Paris for. Someday. For now, Marseille is a holiday town for me and it’s a very good one at that. There’s sun, there’s sea, there’s incredible markets and restaurants and coffee and pastis and wine.

Hi all! Welcome to/back to Shortlisted!Today marks the end of le SUD the TOUR (part one at least!) and to celebrate, this month’s shortlist is also going on tour! By which I mean, as I’ve been on the road across the US (+ Canada) for the past two+ months chatting/hosting/celebrating the book (which just got named Amazon’s #1 best cookbook of 2024 so far!!), I’ve also been eating and drinking and staying in some incredible places.
