Established in 2003 by Jon Oringer, a programmer and photographer, Shutterstock boasts an extensive collection of about 200 million royalty-free images, illustrations, and vector graphics, along with roughly 10 million video clips and music tracks for licensing. Initially a subscription-only service, Shutterstock introduced pay-per-item pricing in 2008. It has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 2012.
