We are Jill Turton and Mandy Wragg, and our passion for exploring Yorkshire has led to the creation of Squidbeak. Our mission is to keep you informed about the best restaurants, wine bars, cafes, tea rooms, and accommodations in the region, all while maintaining our commitment to independence and honesty regarding the Yorkshire food and drink scene. Together, we contribute to the weekly restaurant review column for the Yorkshire Post and also work undercover as restaurant inspectors for various national food guides. Our writing has appeared in publications like Sawday, Routiers, the AA, and Egon Ronay, as well as on several websites. However, we can't disclose all of our affiliations due to the nature of our secret inspections. Rest assured, we've dined at nearly every notable restaurant in Yorkshire!
