Hey Pot Heads!Yes, we’re still working with chickpea flour. This affordable flour deserves a place in your pantry simply because you can whip up so many different kinds of meals with it. The most expensive bag I’ve found of it in LA (a very expensive city) is one pound for $3.99. For that price, you get about 3 ½ cups of flour which is more than enough for several meals. See? Even when you factor in the cost of some random veggies and spices, that’s still one hell of a deal.

If there’s shit all over my food, I expect somebody to say something. I’m old fashioned like that. I thought we’d all agreed that none of us should eat poop, and we certainly shouldn’t be paying for the privilege. Well apparently, that deal is off. There was a massive E. coli outbreak over the last few months and almost none of us heard about it. Sure, there was plenty of other horrifying news to grab our attention but that’s not why we all missed it. We missed the story because there was no story.

Hey Potheads! Last week I shared three different recipes for how to make quick meals on your stovetop out of chickpea flour. If you missed it, catch up right here. Before we move on to baking and frying with chickpea flour, I thought I would make a video to go along with the omelette recipe. There are some of you who just won’t try the recipes without more visual guidance and I am hellbent on getting you all to try chickpea flour. It’s too good of a staple for you to be intimidated.

Hey Potheads! Before we get into this week’s post I wanted to let you know that I’m hosting a lil q & a in Kansas City on May 1 to celebrate the release of my bud Mamrie Hart’s new cookbook All I Think About Is Food. It will be a goofy night at Tom’s Town Distillery and I’d love for you to come if you live near by. All the info you need is right here but you can always DM if you have any questions. Ok, now back to business. Right now, the trees all over my city are heavy with loquats.

Hey Pot Heads! Welcome back from your day of protesting. I saved some chickpea flour for you. If you aren’t caught up on our chickpea flour discussion, start here. Now it’s time to get cooking. There are three very easy meals you can whip up using a simple chickpea batter that can be endlessly personalized based on what you have at home and what you are in the mood for: a scramble, an omelet/crepe, and a thick pancake. You need about ½ cup of chickpea flour per person for breakfast or a light meal.
