Zverev's campaign ended in frustration as he lost to the home hero. He joins Jannik Sinner who could yet be a final opponent if he gets past Carlos Alcaraz in a home hero frenzy. But Zverev risked getting a code violation as he vented his anger at the chair umpire.

It sees an incredible end for the Brit who lost in the final of Madrid and has been one of the best players during the clay court season. This after Draper himself had doubted his clay court ability but obviously afterwards he was left a bit crestfallen by the tie. He said that Alcaraz was better in every facet and it showed.

The frustration was evident with Sabalenka who received a code violation for responding to a spectator. Sabalenka shouted 'shut the f*** up' as a fan shouted 'Come on Aryna play tennis' while being a set and a break down to Zheng.

Ruud saw off Jaume Munar hours after being kept in until midnight without playing and will return tomorrow in order to face Jannik Sinner battling not only him but the Italian crowd.
