The 3rd Annual Rock’N on the Corner in Prairie County is just around the corner, with organizers planning a plethora of activities and entertainment for everyone to enjoy over three fun-filled days. Leann Lantis, owner of 4 Corners Convenience, started the weekend-long Rock’N on the Corner in 2023 after piloting a last-minute one-day event in 2022 that drew about 400 people to Terry. The Terry Public Pool officially opened to swimmers for the 2025 summer season this week and Manager Izzy Wickson is working hard to fully train and certify the rest of her lifeguard team in order to fully open for the community to enjoy the pool seven days a week. In an interview on Tuesday, Wickson explained this week marked the Terry Public Pool’s “soft opening,” as it was only open until Thursday before closing for the weekend.

A ballot for three open Town of Terry elected positions may never reach the hands of voters after only incumbents filed to retain their current seats. The candidate filing period for the municipal election in Terry officially closed on Wednesday at 5 p.m. with three applications submitted, according to information from the Prairie County Clerk and Recorder’s office at the time of reporting.
