    There was one feature of April that made it notable, and it wasn’t the temperature or the wind. The average temperature was within a degree of normal for the month, with the usual wide swings on either side of average. The wind gusted over 40 MPH at times last month, but that wasn’t unusual.     Local hospital Teton Valley Health Care recently was reviewed and passed their annual accreditation with Det Norske Veritas (DNV), an assurance and risk management company to deem hospitals in compliance. TVH passedChief Nurse and Chief Operating Officer at TVH Lisa Carlson explained that this is the third year that DNV has accredited TVH, and this year yielded the best review yet with minimal issues and no findings that indicated systemic issues within the hospital.

    Over the past winter, around 50 8th-grade students at TMS worked on an argumentative essay in response to the prompt of “Ways to Make Teton Valley Better for Teens” proposed by 8th grade English Language Arts teacher Daniel Pistoresi. Simon L. was crowned first place and awarded $100, Cayden P. received $50, and Allie M. took home $25.     On Monday, the agenda for the county commissioners showed an action item for the board to change the number of board members on the county’s planning and zoning board from seven to five; they chose to gather their bearings before making the motion and tabled the discussion to May 12.
