On March 7, the St. Thomas University Tommies concluded the winter sports season. Despite not achieving each team’s expectations of winning a banner, their hard work and dedication were demonstrated throughout the season. Canadian employment opportunities expected to increase in 2025, says report

According to a report by the recruitment firm Express Employment Professionals (EEP), 51 per cent of Canadian companies plan to increase their employee count in 2025. “I think just because companies are optimistic about growing to be profitable, they may have to hire more people and that the businesses that we’re working with are seeing increased volumes of job searches,” said Brent Pollington, owner of the EEP’s branch in Vancouver.

Walking into the theatre, you are greeted by a giant circular screen that mimics the shape of an eye. With projections of stars, you find your way to a front-row seat and as you sit down, you overhear your neighbour ‘fangirling’ over the prospect of sitting an arm’s length away from famed actor Sir Kenneth Branagh. The screen lifts parallel to the stage and Branagh’s fur-coated King Lear character emerges from the fog.

Roided up, paranoid, strung out, stained in blood, vomit, sweat and semen. Logically ramps up its surreal, neon tinged violence to complete ludicrousy. The gun was destructive, traumatizing, empowering, addictive, a high calibre hand cannon made for the express purpose of mutilating human flesh and annihilating life. Love Lies Bleeding is a grand fucking time, endlessly erotic, and intense, accelerating its increasingly escalating action and strangeness until everything is spinning out of control.
Dune 2 - The Aquinian

For the entire second half of Dune: Part Two’s nearly three hour run time, I had to pee so bad. But man was it hard to look away from. If Dune was an art house sci-fi flick, Dune: Part Two is a militaristic epic of existential proportions. Balancing complex character arcs, surreal violence, prophet visions, apocalyptic imagery, a dense web of political intrigue, heavy stylization and breathtaking cinematography, Dune: Part Two is for all intents and purposes: a lot.

Propaganda gets a bit of a dirty name in the West. It’s deeply surreal almost how much of our media is drenched in state-approved military sludge despite our obsession with liberty and free thinking. From anything from Marvel films to the 1996 Independence Day, everything is slathered in this aforementioned sludge.
Review: 5 Broken Cameras

5 Broken Cameras is a difficult film to put into words. Clichés are clichés for a reason and as such, considering this is free both on Youtube and on Tubi, there is absolutely no reason not to watch this movie before reading this review. TL; DR It’s a beautiful piece of art, an absolute triumph of the struggle and a testament to the power of the medium. Please just watch it. With that out of the way, the documentary Emad Burnat created here is quite literally a masterwork.
Review: Anyone But You

Anyone But You is the newest Shakespeare-inspired rom-com to hit theatres starring famous hot people such as Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell. While not as consistently funny or abrasive as 2023’s No Hard Feelings, it’s as cute and corny as you’d expect and written with all the cheesiness of a Wattpad fanfiction. Despite a questionably unfunny opening 20 minutes, Anyone But You eventually falls into a comfortable and ever-charming flow state that renders it a breeze.

There’s a new game where you run around catching colourful creatures in spheres and use them to fight other players. Do you think I am talking about Pokémon? You wouldn’t be the first. The game I’m describing is actually Palworld, which has quickly garnered over two million players to date and has held a spot at the top of the gaming charts on Steam. It is currently being called “Pokémon with guns” by some users.
