According to a report by the recruitment firm Express Employment Professionals (EEP), 51 per cent of Canadian companies plan to increase their employee count in 2025. “I think just because companies are optimistic about growing to be profitable, they may have to hire more people and that the businesses that we’re working with are seeing increased volumes of job searches,” said Brent Pollington, owner of the EEP’s branch in Vancouver.

Warning: Wicked spoilers ahead. “That was fantastic,” said my younger sister as we battled the crowd on our way out of the Broadway Gershwin Theatre. Having seen a few other Broadway shows, such as Hamilton, Water for Elephants, and Hadestown, I can say that none compare to Wicked.

Walking into the theatre, you are greeted by a giant circular screen that mimics the shape of an eye. With projections of stars, you find your way to a front-row seat and as you sit down, you overhear your neighbour ‘fangirling’ over the prospect of sitting an arm’s length away from famed actor Sir Kenneth Branagh. The screen lifts parallel to the stage and Branagh’s fur-coated King Lear character emerges from the fog.

The gun was destructive, traumatizing, empowering, addictive, a high calibre hand cannon made for the express purpose of mutilating human flesh and annihilating life. Love Lies Bleeding is a grand fucking time, endlessly erotic, and intense, accelerating its increasingly escalating action and strangeness until everything is spinning out of control.
