After spending five years in Hong Kong, we’ve made the beautiful Oregon Coast our new home. I’m David Greenberg, the writer behind our reviews, with thirteen books published and experience as a speaker on the international lecture circuit. My wife, Susan Andrew Greenberg, brings her talents as a teacher, writer, photographer, and former marketing agency owner to our reviews. Din Tai Fung, PDXDavid & Susan Greenberg, The Ardent [email protected] alien seed pods, Din Tai Fungs are landing and sprouting dumplings (and noodles) everywhere. They’re in Seattle, Times Square NYC, one is in downtown PDX, another in Washington Square Mall, 182 Din Tai Fungs worldwide. Mr. Yang Bing Yi started the business in Taiwan in 1958 with his wife, Madame Lai Pen Mei, growing it from a business that originally sold cooking oil.

Most would be dissuaded from visiting a third time but we, undauntable foodies, were not. We lived in Hong Kong for five years pursuing toothsome quarry and we knew that this was just a feint to throw us off scent. Perseverance is all.

David recounts, “On the day of my bar-mitzvah, my older brother ran away with a friend (for several hours) and the adults solemnly gathered to chart a course of action. One of them suggested we order several pizzas for sustenance. While I too looked solemn, I silently thanked my brother and wished he might run away more often. For, like anyone of sound mind, I loved pizza. Maybe, above all.” Pizza is Ozempic’s enemy.
