Court records have revealed details about a shooting in Magnolia on Sunday, February 23, 2025 that left one man injured and put six others behind bars under high bond. A criminal information against the defendants in the case lists six people from four towns who are all charged with committing a terroristic act, battery first degree, and engaging in a continuing gang organization or enterprise. The six men are all held at the Columbia County Justice and Detention Facility.

Terry Dewayne Thomason, age 70, of Bismarck, passed from this life on Sunday May 11, 2025, at CHI St. Vincent’s in Hot Springs. He was born on June 21, 1954, in Arkadelphia the son of the late Herschel Franklin and Mae Watkins Thomason. Terry was a 1971 graduate of Arkadelphia High School and a 1974 graduate of Henderson State Teachers College. He spent many years as a business owner, livestock farmer, and licensed Funeral Director at Welch Funeral Home.

Dr. Anita Joyce Boswell Williams, 79, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, died on May 10, 2025 at Nightingale in Arkadelphia. She was born to William R. “Bill” and Joyce Boswell on November 10, 1945, in Big Spring, TX. Dr. Williams was an avid reader her entire life. In her youth, she often fought off sleep to continue reading into the wee hours of the morning. So, it was no surprise that education and learning in general were always at the top of her priority list.
