    Dorothy Jean White-Mitchell was born on September 27, 1937, to Arther and Ora Bell Mitchell in Curtis, Arkansas. She started working at the tender age of 9, working with her parents. Dorothy worked at the Clark County Memorial Hospital for 13 years. She worked at the Arkadelphia Human Development Center for 20 years as a dietician and was a foster grandparent for 6 years for Ouachita Baptist University, Happyland Childcare Center and Headstart.

    Tara Stacks, age 50, of Arkadelphia passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth and indelible memories. She was born April 17, 1974 to Ray and Becky Brown. Tara brought joy and light into the lives of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Becky Brown; step-mother-in-law, Elizabeth Stacks; and grandparents, Maxine and Walter Phelps.

    Harvey Lee Thomas, a cherished son, brother, father, and friend was born on October 15, 1966, in Delight, Arkansas, to Jack Thomas and Rosetta Richardson. Harvey embraced life with a vibrant spirit and a deep love for the outdoors. He was a 1985 graduate of Delight High School and attended Henderson State University. Harvey valued his connections with friends and family above all else. His laughter was like magic, drawing others to him and creating lasting relationships wherever he went.

    Local church pastors in Arkadelphia invite the community to participate in a National Day of Prayer event Thursday, May 1, 2025. The 45-minute event will be held at Third Street Baptist Church, located at 224 Crawford St. The event begins at noon. The Clark County Christian Academy choir will lead in song and the pledges to the American and Christian flag, as well as the Bible. Amanda Thomas will sing the National Anthem. Arkadelphia High School’s JROTC will post the colors.
