During the early going of the pandemic, my wife Debbie Millman and I were spending our time at our home in Los Angeles where we have a cute backyard. At the time, there were a couple trees and some bushes, the lightest of landscaping. I do not have a green thumb so it never occurred to me to do anything more because the outside is, frankly, none of my business. Fortunately, Debbie has long had a love of gardening.
