Like music, poetry presented a certain rhythm among words, making it easier for people to memorize and relate to what poets said. UCR Starbucks PetitionOver a thousand students at UCLA and UCR have begun protesting against Starbucks locations on their campuses. Los Angeles Daily reports that the students are attempting to remove the locations due to tactics utilized by the coffee corporation to discourage unionization. According to KTLA5, several former Starbucks employees have come forward claiming they were let go because of unionization efforts.

Discipleship groups help cultivate spiritual growth

Discipleship groups, or d-groups, are a distinct tool for building relationships and growing in faith on campus. “D-Group is simply a specific space where a group of people, usually 3-6 [students] and a leader meet together on a regular basis for the goal of growing in their faith,” said Brian Zunigha, director of discipleship for Spiritual Life. Unlike Chapel, SL Night or SL Groups, d-groups are not formally organized by Spiritual Life.
