Bristol Central’s boys track and field team traveled to Farmington on Tuesday. They returned home with another impressive victory under their belts, a 104-46 decision over the River Hawks. Chuck Okeke had a huge day for the Rams, sweeping the three field events, Shot Put, Discus, and Javelin. Tristian Toussaint took firsts in the 110 and 300 Hurdles, and was part of the winning 4X 100 Relay for BC. And Will Postell finished first in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump.

5/15/2025Brian Anderson led the St Paul Falcons to their third win of the season Tuesday afternoon in Canton. Anderson pitched 5 scoreless innings allowing just 5 baserunners on 2 hits while striking out 8. Freshman Evan Judenis made his first varsity appearance on the mound, and finished the game for the Falcons. Starter Tyler Rottkamp took the loss for Canton. St Paul jumped out to an early lead with 2 runs in the 1st inning.

The Bristol Eastern baseball team lost to Hall on Tuesday afternoon, losing by the score of 14-2 in agame played at Hall, and called after 4 & ½ innings due to the mercy rule. Eastern took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. With two outs, Owen Myers singled to left, took secondon a wild pitch, and scored on Randy DeNoto’s single to right center. Connor Murtaugh followed with adouble to right center, but DeNoto was cut down at the plate trying to score on the play. Then it got ugly.

The Bristol Eastern boys track team faced Hall High School Tuesday afternoon, and they put in a solid effort against a juggernaut of Central Connecticut track. The final score was:Eastern had four athletes with first place finishes. Jase Koczur: took 1st place in 3200 (11:10)Lincoln Bashaw: finished 1st in Shot Put (41-07.25)Reydro Philippe: placed 1st in Discus (113-09)Jacob Rogers: won in the Javelin (121-11) Eastern drops to 1-1, Coach Paul Ryskowski was proud of their effort.

Jean R. McCreesh, 77, of Bristol, passed away on Saturday, April 12. She was born on Dec. 13, 1947, in Bristol, daughter of the late Lawrence and Margery (Hannah) Roberts. Jean graduated from Tunxis Community College with her associate’s degree and continued to St. Joseph University where she graduated with her Bachelor’s degree. She also graduated from Fordham University with a master’s degree in social work.
