Hello and welcome to the midweek edition of The Calderdale Lead. I hope you all had a good Easter weekend and didn’t miss us too much - a huge apology but a few tech issues meant we were unable to get our usual Sunday issue to you. We’re back in business now though and we’ve got details of a ministerial visit to Halifax and some praise from the Government for a school who is one of the ‘early adopters’ of free breakfast clubs.

Hello and welcome to The Calderdale Lead. I hope you’re having a good week so far and are looking forward - hopefully - to a long Easter weekend. Now Calderdale might not seem like the natural dwelling place for crayfish but apparently it is! Hello and welcome to the weekend edition of The Calderdale Lead. I’ve got some great news for fans of long weekends - next weekend is one of them! (Not a bad way to start an intro eh?). Anyway, in today’s edition we’ve got a plea from Calderdale councillors to spend locally to help provide a boost to the local economy.

Firstly, Calderdale Council is looking for permission (from itself!) to make changes to the stunning ballroom at Tod Town Hall. I was there the other week for an event and it really is beautiful.

Hello and welcome to The Calderdale Lead. Well, after promising to stick its hat on for the last few weeks, we’ve finally been blessed with some sunshine across Calderdale this week… and doesn’t the borough look amazing? It’s an edition of good news today with a couple of much-needed cash boosts for education and health in Calderdale. And with what feels like weeks of negativity when it comes to cuts to public spending, it’s certainly welcome! So, on with the news…This Substack is reader-supported.
