The China Press Newspaper

China Press (simplified Chinese: 中国报; traditional Chinese: 中國報; pinyin: Zhōngguó Bào) is a Chinese-language newspaper in Malaysia, founded by Henry Lee Hau Shik. It made its debut on February 1, 1946, in Kuala Lumpur. After a temporary suspension on May 13, 1969, due to a court news report connected to the 13 May Incident, China Press made a comeback in 1986. By 1988, its daily circulation skyrocketed from 20,000 to 100,000, earning it the title of the fastest-growing newspaper in the country. Currently, it has a daily circulation of around 154,000, ranking as the second most popular Chinese daily newspaper in Malaysia. Its Night edition is particularly favored, boasting a circulation of approximately 48,000. Recognizing its success, China Press introduced its evening edition on May 19, 1990, with the slogan "Today News Tonight Know."
