SOUTH KOREA: Growing demand for data centre cooling solutions and a desire to expand its applied HVAC portfolio is said to be behind Samsung’s €1.5bn purchase of the FläktGroup. According to Samsung, FläktGroup’s data centre solutions, which include both liquid cooling and air cooling products, have secured high customer satisfaction through its product performance, reliability and service support, achieving “substantial” revenue growth over the past three years.

GERMANY: Korean manufacturer Samsung Electronics is set to acquire all the shares of FläktGroup from investment company Triton for €1.5bn. The deal, equivalent to an enterprise value of €1.8bn, is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions and is expected to close this year.
