The Florida Channel
The FLORIDA Channel started providing complete coverage of the state's legislative sessions in 1996. Initially located at the Public Broadcast Center in Tallahassee, it was Florida’s sole source for live and unedited legislative broadcasts. In 1997, the coverage expanded to include oral arguments from the Florida Supreme Court. That same year, WFSU-TV took over the management of the TV facility on the 9th floor of the Florida Capitol and began producing all programs for the FLORIDA Channel. In 1998, the show Capitol Update was introduced, along with live coverage of special legislative sessions and Public Service Commission Agenda Conferences. By 2002, The FLORIDA Channel launched a year-round, 24/7 programming service that offers comprehensive coverage of all three branches of Florida's government.
