    Spring Fling was a colorful outdoor festival. This festive event was filled with flowers, music, painting and refreshments. With final exams coming up, this event was a great way for students to relieve some stress and get some fresh air. Students painted vases and were able to pick up their own personal plant. “Midterms are over and I made some new friends over at the table. I’m out here painting a pot and getting a new plant this spring. Spring means a lot to me.

    Paddle boards, sunshine and a beautiful lake is what Georgia Southern students got to experience last Thursday at Lake Ruby. This was a free event for students held by campus recreation and intramural, that gave them a chance to unwind before finals and also try something new. “I’ve never been paddle boarding before, so I was a little nervous, but it was so fun and super relaxing,” said student Inya Waller.

    Every spring, Georgia Southern University blooms—not just with flowers, but with something bigger–a movement. I was able to catch up and speak with many vendors to learn more about what Eco Bash meant to them and the Statesboro community. “We are contributing to sustainability at Georgia Southern. Also, who doesn’t love thrifting? So to be able to offer for campus students and staff to be able to actively be able to find something,” said curator of education Marjean Cone.

    Georgia Southern’s Arabic Club hosted their second multicultural fashion show at the Williams Center. The fashion show included multiple looks from different regions. “Red is mostly for the culture. We mostly use red a lot and this is just me wanting to express the Nigerian culture’s true clothing and there’s so many ways to express my culture but clothing is one of the major ways to express my culture and it’s really beautiful.

    The FitMind workshop hosted their second event of the year on Saturday April 13 in the Hollis Building. The FitMind series focuses on self care, movement and mindful living. The sessions are aimed to charge, relax, and learn strategies to work into daily routines of the participants. This week’s workshop included making candles, practicing yoga, and learning about meal nutrition.
