    After the Family Fun and Fishing event was postponed in April, families will have another opportunity this weekend to receive a free fitted life jacket. The Remembering Wyatt Dale Water Safety organization will be distributing free life jackets from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at The Rock at 300 Elm St. in Graham. The organization hosts the Family Fun and Fishing event each year and seeks to spread the message of water safety and provide life jackets for all children.

    The city of Graham will be performing its annual required disinfecting process of the water transmission and distribution system starting next week and running through mid-July. During the process, the city will temporarily convert the disinfectant used in the water distribution system from chloramine to free chlorine. The change will begin Wednesday, June 25 and will continue through Wednesday, July 16.

    A Henrietta teen died in a two-vehicle wreck Sunday south of Olney on Hwy. 251 in Young County. The wreck occurred in the morning Sunday, June 13 approximately 7.5 miles south of Olney, according to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety. A 17-year-old female passenger died in the vehicle wreck due to the injuries sustained in the crash. She was pronounced dead after being transferred to Olney Hamilton Hospital.

    This week, Cynthia Re’nee Starks received a birthday surprise of a lifetime when she was able to officially have a father for the first time in the 49 years of her life. Cynthia, or Cindy, celebrated her 49th birthday Wednesday, June 11 at the Young County Courthouse when her name was officially changed from Starks to Langford. The change was made a secret by her parents Robert and Carlotta Langford. But that’s not where this story begins. It all started with Cindy’s birth June 11, 1976.
