Bradley Geary, former commander of the Naval Special Warfare Basic Training Command, was accused of dereliction of duty for negligently failing to provide medical support and negligent command supervision, resulting in “death and grievous bodily harm,” his attorney told me.

For years, Matt Cubbler has tried to correct what he sees as a grave injustice done by the Navy SEALs. Cubbler, a retired small-town police officer, has told anyone who would listen that Cmdr. Job W. Price did not kill himself. Price, the decorated 42-year-old commander of SEAL Team Four, died of a gunshot wound to the head a few days before Christmas 2012 while on deployment in Afghanistan. A military investigation ruled the death a suicide.

.There’s another story about flawed training that didn’t make it into my article last week about “Lone Survivor,” former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell’s account of a 2005 ambush in the mountains of northeast Afghanistan. This one involves his identical twin brother, Rep. Morgan Luttrell, R-Texas. Long before he emerged from a crowded GOP primary field and won a three-way race in the 2022 general election to represent the Houston suburbs, Rep. Luttrell helped his twin cheat his way through SEAL training.

Lone Survivor tells the story of former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, the only surviving member of a group of four Frogmen who were ambushed in 2005 in the mountains of Afghanistan.

A federal judge has ordered the U.S. government to hand over an investigation into a deadly CIA interrogation in Abu Ghraib prison as he considers whether it can be made public. U.S. District Judge James Boasberg in Washington, DC, ordered the government to produce a “clean and redacted” copy of the CIA Inspector General’s report of its investigation into the 2003 death of Manadel al-Jamadi by Tuesday.
