During their Thursday, June 12 meeting, Lunenburg County supervisors approved an application from the Paynter family to launch Fox Run Events. The business is built around an events center at 10929 Courthouse Road, a remodeled home that has been designed to hold weddings, reunions, bridal showers, birthday parties and baby showers.

Published 7:50 am Thursday, June 19, 2025 Could a solar project at the Lunenburg airport help generate revenue for the county? Is airport solar something even doable? That’s what the county is looking into, as they get set to invite developers to make a pitch. Developers will be asked to pitch their proposal on how to handle a relatively small solar project, between 20 to 25 acres, on the southern side of the airport property.

Published 11:10 pm Tuesday, June 10, 2025 Time’s almost up. At this point, early voting for the June primaries in Lunenburg County will be over in just a couple of days. That will run through this coming Saturday, June 14, with Primary Day taking place next Tuesday, June 17. However, it’s a much smaller set of races than originally expected, as Republicans have already chosen their candidates in the statewide races for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general.

That’s a question a number of school districts both in this region and across the commonwealth will be asking over the summer, as they work to interpret Virginia’s new Cell Phone-Free Education law. On Friday, May 30, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin held a ceremonial signing of his “Bell-to-Bell Cell Phone-Free” policy and left no doubt as to what will be required.
