SUNY New Paltz’s Absolut A Cappella and The Sexy Pitches took to the stage at Studley Theatre on April 5 with three other student-run vocalist clubs hailing from different New York universities for Absolut’s annual invitational. The “evening in the garden,” as it was referred to on Absolut’s Instagram, saw singing from New Paltz’s all-gender acapella group, Absolut A Cappella, and campus’ only all-treble acapella group, The Sexy Pitches.

The open forum discussion saw students, faculty and individuals from across the Hudson Valley discuss the conditions on campus following the pro-Palestine encampment at SUNY New Paltz nearly one year after the police raid that led to over 130 arrests and an ongoing lawsuit.

Nordic Skiing Success at Sectional Championship

New Paltz High School’s Nordic ski teams dominated the Section IX championship on Feb. 10, sweeping it for the fourth year in a row. All New Paltz skiers medaled in their races. The sport of Nordic Skiing includes both cross-country and ski jumping events and is present in both collegiate and high school athletic programs across the country. The New Paltz High School program launched in 2023, and the athletes have been successful since the start, competing in 5.6K and 7.5K cross-country races.
