The News-Gazette
The News-Gazette is a weekly newspaper based in Lexington, Virginia, with its publication every Wednesday. It caters to the residents of Rockbridge County as well as the cities of Lexington and Buena Vista. This publication has a rich history that dates back to 1801, when the Lexington Gazette was established. Another significant predecessor, the Rockbridge County News, was founded in 1884. These two newspapers came together in 1962 to create The News-Gazette. As a result of this heritage, The News-Gazette stands as the third oldest newspaper in Virginia and the oldest one located west of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
