Good morning friends,Happy Thursday. Today’s weekend calls for some rain, but we’ve got plenty of fabulous ways to while away the weekend while staying cozy. One of my favorite Greenpoint restaurants is debuting weekend lunch, there’s a pickle festival, and a cool pizza collab for a cause. The Weekend Buzz is for paid subscribers so if you’re not on the list, I hope you’ll consider joining.

Hi friends, Hope you are holding up okay with the continued torrent of horrors from the White House. Turning to things you can control…for today’s Weekend Buzz I’ve got two amazing restaurants debuting brunch (one in Queens and another in Brooklyn) and some unique places to watch the Super Bowl (and the Puppy Bowl) — one with beer, one with champagne, and another with cocktails and a fireplace! Have a great one. See you Monday.

Happy Monday my friends, Some good stuff to report for this week. First up, the Jupiter trio - Jess Shadbolt, Annie Shi and Clare de Boer - have launched a new food truck on the Plaza at Rockefeller Center. It’s totally cute, a black and white van-meets-airstream that looks like something you and your best college friends might use to meander around Europe over one long hot summer.

I’ve long had a dream – to open a book store that’s also a cafe, not exactly the most unique idea to be sure, but it speaks to two of my passions—reading and eating. I’ve been a reader since I was small, a library kid, and still am now that I am, well, not small. I loved The Vulnerables, by Sigrid Nunez, a memoir-styled novel that’s essential reading if you’re a writer. Wellness, by Nathan Hill, who wrote The Nix, was also excellent.

I think most of you know I am an avid reader; I just finished The Vulnerables by Sigred Nunez and Wellness by Nathan Hill, both of which I LOVED. Maybe it’s because I like to write, maybe it’s because I love the beauty of words in the hands of people who can build entire worlds from sentences, but there’s not really a time when I don’t have a book open on my bedside table, or a stack waiting for me at the library.
