Although Windy Lampson is now Alamance-Burlington School System’s 2025 Teacher of the Year, she did not begin an education career after finishing college. Lampson, now visual arts teacher at Southeast Alamance High School, obtained a master's degree from East Carolina University’s School of Art & Design and began working as a professional painter upon graduation. The Alamance County Board of Commissioners unanimously has approved placing parental guidance stickers on books in the county’s public libraries. The Alamance County Library Committee voted in February to recommend placing stickers on books containing violence, underage drinking and drug use, or sexually explicit content.
