    Consideration of a developer's application for a permit allowing a Lexington vacant boarding house, more than 100 years old, to be turned into apartments will have to wait until July. The Lexington City Planning Board of Adjustment had been scheduled to hear it on June 16 but continued the request until its July meeting to give developer Tim Savage of Savage Properties more time to work on parking issues at the site, 38 Mill St., said Josh Monk, Lexington's planning and developer service manager.

    City of Lexington officials are seeking public input to the Lincoln Park neighborhood's application to be included on the National Register of Historic Places, and plans to hold two public meetings on the subject. The 94-year-old Lexington resident lives with his wife in their Arcadia community home, where he tends to their home gardens, and he's still an adept driver who goes to play pickleball with friends three to four times a week. Yes, pickleball, dashing from backcourt to frontcourt, swinging a paddle and defeating many opponents years younger. "It's just a fun sport," said Phillips, who is a native of Michigan and a former Florida resident.

    On Wednesday, the sun glowed a bit brighter and morning time was a bit happier for fans of the "scratch made" biscuits at Lexington's Biscuitville. After nearly four months of being closed when a woman crashed into the the city's only Biscuitville on Feb. 26, it finally reopened on June 18. The company has been working on repairs to the the back side of the building at the kitchen where the woman struck the building with a rented U-Haul truck.
