The European Commission has just told its 450 million residents to assemble a 72-hour survival kit. The kit should include matches, three days worth of food and water, a torch, a Swiss army knife, and card games (cute) etc, in preparation for the “challenges that cannot be ignored”, namely war, natural disaster, pandemics and civil unrest.

I promised to put all the shares from this Community Thread: Tech tips for sticking it up the broligarchs in one, neat spot. The “softer” tips for dialling down tech dependence (at the bottom) should not be dismissed. In fact, I think they are the more urgent switches to be implemented, for reasons that extend to being prepared for the kind of emergencies much of Europe is now warning its citizens to be mindful of (the next post will cover this).

At the start of the year I paused the Wild with Sarah Wilson podcast. It was costing me more than I was being paid to make it. And I’d been doing it for four, long years. Plus, I was at the mercy of Spotify et al algorithms. So on, so forth. The past few weeks I’ve been experimenting with the Live interview format here on Substack, where I do a live chats with another like-minded Substacker and then put the video up on my feed after for anyone who missed it. And it’s been working.

First, I’m heading back to Australia for a month and am doing several events and will be holding Substack subscriber meetups in Sydney and Melbourne. In late June I’m in the UK.
